After performing the complete  Beethoven string quartets in 2020, Taurus Quartet will present an anthology of the powerful chamber music oeuvre of Johannes Brahms.

To do justice to Brahms’ impressive oeuvre, the Taurus Quartet has invited musicians from Antwerp, Belgian and some international guests musicians.
The Antwerp chamber choir “Camerata Waelrant”  (https://waelrant.be/camerata.html) will perform some intimate choral works.
The Antwerp pianist Nikolaas Kende and violinist Jolente De Maeyer, who form a duo together, are joined by the Dutch cellist Johan Van Iersel (soloist of the Concertgebouw Orchestra) and the Finnish altoist Lilli Maijala.
The audience will hear his special string quartets, the wonderful sextets and intense quintets.

The project will take place in the weekend of 18 and 19 December 2021. The concerts are scheduled: Saturday 18/12/21 at 8 pm and Sunday at 11 am, 3 pm and 8 pm

To make sure that as many people as possible can enjoy this music, Taurus Quartet has decided to offer the four concerts of the Brahms chamber music festival for very democratic prices.
In order to pay for the organization of this festival, Taurus has to rely on crowdfunding, because government support and its own resources are insufficient to cover all costs. We want our project to be accessible to everyone, which is why we think it’s important to offer these four concerts to our audience at low prices.
